I understand that, I've pretty much played every sport growing up, and I know that you grow close to your teammates in every sport, I just don't think anything compares to the bond hockey teammates share. Sorry guys I didn't get on much today I better get caught in the discussion...Very true what you say about Hockey its just a different animal. I'm from Van BC and my Canucks fell a little short this year (ya ya to your Blackhawks...greg) and WTF happened to the Islanders they used to be so dominant? Tough times in NY between BBall and Hockey... I miss playing, I'm 39 now and I don't play much of anything other than some street BBall with lbj4mvp (and yes he's a lot younger than I) but a good BBall player. BTW in hockey I was mainly a goalie but I played a little defense and forward as well...I have terrible ankles so my Hockey days were short! sucks! Growing up my favorite by far was street hockey...any of you play!...CAR!...GAME ON! lol (I loved Waynes World depiction of this) good times! Haha yea unfortunately the Islanders have seen better times, but they have the right management now and they look like they're turning things around. Fortunately, I'm not a Knicks fan, that would just be too brutal. |

I don't think it has to do with the sport...it has to do with the traveling teams...I grew up playing on traveling basketball and basebell teams...I played in the national championship in baeeball in florida as a 5th grader...the bonds are built there in the travel not in the sport...no matter what you play if you live and breathe with each other it's the bond thats built...It's just that all hockey teams have to travel Very True! |
