wow i offered shaq 140 million and he chose 100 million how does that work ? apparently you don't fully understand the FA rules..You couldn't of offered Shaq that much, the most you could of offered him is the MAX contract that a player with his experience can receive. A team who has a players bird years (3 or more years without changing teams through FA, trades retain rights to bird years.) can offer more than a team without bird years...this means that more often than not a player will resign with his previous team...In Shaq's case he received max money from Orlando, which was 1 year longer plus 2.5%of the fi9rst year more than what you offered. There is a limit to what a player can make.

The Horry and Christie deals surprised me.
It may not seem like a lot for Doug, but he is a defense only guy and is getting paid a decent amount.

Right now we can't front load. I'll think about it for the future. Only reason I say no is that Briar could use this as a way to get out of a bad deal without the intent for the front load before he offered.

True on Christie, I over paid a bit, but hes' young so we'll see if he can grow and become a better scorer.

^ Why would I want to get ot of my R Horry deal, I have no CAP space and its only going to get worst! I signed Horry so I could lock him up because I couldn't afford to lose him.
But if we currently don't offer front loaded deals than I understand we can't all of a sudden do it for me...
I will just have to build my team thru the draft and MLE and LLE and hopefully my team improves at TC....failing to lock up a superstar big is costing me, in the short term, a championship but R Horry is solid 19/9/3 with a couple of steals per game and an A defender is a very good player IMO!
This is not the Wilkins deal that was a mess a few years ago!

It's in the league Rules that we can front load

Yeah not nearly as bad as Wilkins. Horry is about 12 years younger when he got his max deal

Front loading a contract has absolutely zero impact on what you can offer the 1st year... you should be able to frontload contracts - starting at 10.5m and going down from there. You can't just start off at 18.375m and go backwards.
