nope, that would help for next year. What he needes is a straight salary dump.

plus he still needs min 12 players (another mil and a half or about 2-3 mil if he did it in season) so he needs about 4 mil in cap relief to be safe (all assuming he is getting players with min contracts.

You can unbalance a trade (the difference can be as big as 1.15 of the other contract.)
