I have a question about salaries when you're trading players. Which number should I look at, the total salary, or a one-year salary?
Ex.
If I were to trade
Steve Smith 3 yrs. $2,349,113 $2,562,618 $2,776,122 Total:$7,687,853
For
Scott Skiles 1 yr. $7,343,766
Would that work?

1992-93:39-43...Missed Playoffs
1993-94:46-36...1st Round Exit as 7th Seed
1994-95:43-39...2nd Round Exit as 8th Seed
1995-96:8-5

It's about the current year salaries. So that trade wouldn't work. If Steve Smith was making 6 mil or 8 mil, then this would work.
