Welcome to a new feature of the NBA. The League's hired a reporter who will be sitting down every so often with the League's commish, Mops, and discuss a few things going on around the league. This will be our first installment of what we hope will be many pieces done in the future.
Q: What is your thoughts on how the league has gone on in it's first few months of existence?
Mops: I think the league is starting to flourish. We have a lot of active GMs who didn't have many years of experience but have picked things up on the run. We've also been able to add a solid core of GMs who have a very deep history in FBB and they've been the backbone of the league. I'm seeing more and more activity and chatter about the league that keeps me thinking we should expand the league. In fact, Im taking this chance now to announce that we have awarded Vancouver and Toronto, both cities in Canada, a team that will start to compete in the year 1995-96 season.
Q: Whats your opinion so far on the upcoming draft?
Mops: Well, I just found out that Michigan star Chris Webber won't be declaring which was a shock to me. However I think the draft right now is pretty deep and exciting.
I am very excited to see how European sensations Toni Kukoc and Arvydas Sabonis will fare in the league. I have a hunch both players are going to be superstars for whatever lucky franchise is able to land them.
I also think this senior class has some very good talent with guys like Vin Baker from Hortford, Sam Cassell from Florida State, and Calbert Cheaney from Indiana. I think those three players will be huge in the league for years to come.
I am also excited to check out the early entry players in JR Rider, Jamal Mashburn, and Rasheed Wallace, ooo, and also James Robinson.
Q: Who do you like to win the title?

Mops: Well, thats a very tough question. The Bulls have set themselves up nicely getting Isiah Thomas and Robert Parish to go with MJ and Scottie. We will have to see how they are with Pippen back. The Sixers are just a pleasant surprise. First they were overachieving but now after getting Danny Ferry and Larry Nance I think they put themselves in position for a big run at multiple titles. Out west I have to like the Jazz with Brad Daugherty and Karl Malone down low, they just need time to gel and workout the kinks. I also like the Rockets with Hakeem Olajuwon and Kenny Smith. Oh, don't forget about the team I own, sorry gotta include us too, Barkley and Coleman are a deadly combo down low.
Simply put there are a lot of good teams and it's anyone's game right now.
Q: What do you think about the new Cavs GM, Kajonman, who's taken a team who maybe had a shot at a title and dismantling them?
Mops: Well, they still have price and I just approved a trade that brought them Kevin Duckworth to team up with Terrell Brandon and Mark Price. It's not a very bad team, but boy look at all those contracts and picks they have accumulated.
