I know this whole thing is for fun but some of us are more into it than others. As I plunge through the Draft and contemplate Trades, I wonder if I and a very few are doing it for the better of their teams.
For fun check out the top 10 plays of 93' in the NBA:

Check out Webber and Kemp ohhhh BABY.
As I peruse through the Trade Talks it seems that most GM's are looking for upgrades and picks. I am not saying that this is the wrong thing to do. I am saying that you need to work with what you have and turn your team into a contending team and maybe even champions.
Trading should be well thought out and you shouldn't go grab the top 10 scoring players and give up a ton of picks or players to get him. One player is not going to give your team a championship, this is why we say "TEAM". We all need to focus on what is best for our teams.
I personally like the trade that helps both teams even if that means just trading picks.
So the next time you offer a trade make sure you think about the outcome before offering it, then trading will go smoother and everyone will be happier.
Drafting is all about the 1st round. The second round becomes a bunch of middle of the road players. Some of these second round players are still A potential and could turn out great, but the best of the best is within the first 15 picks.
When drafting, you need to keep in mind what you are looking for. You need to find that one or two players that you want to build around.
Choose a focus for your team from those players you want to build around and then draft and trade with that focus in mind. The Kings team for example has Mitch Richmond, with a high outside shooting value. So when I drafted I choose my guards with high outside shooting values.
Shooting and Point Guards along with Starting Forwards should have a same goal in mind. Maybe you want to have outside shooting with defense or hands.
Centers and Power Forwards should also have a theme say inside shooting and rebounding or defense.
You can see a recurring value from both sets of players and that is defense in this case. So make sure you draft for defense by making your second rounders have a high defense value.
So by keeping in mind your needs and not your wants in the Draft or Trading you can make your team into something more than just a bunch of players, you can make a bunch of players into a Championship TEAM!!!
Good luck to all in the future.............
