Seattle- May 16, 2009
It is the most wonderful time of the year….AWARD PREDICTION TIME!!!
MVP: Shaquille O’Neal, C, Orlando Magic
-He scores (2nd in ppg) and is a beastly rebounder (1st in the league at 15 rpg). He isn’t a stud shot blocker, but does well enough. Malone will give him a run for his money with more points, but I think Shaq’s dominance in rebounding takes the cake. However, MJ could make a late run. He is on a new team where he is the #1 option by far. They don’t even have a good #2 guy so expect to see MJ’s ppg shoot sky high.
Pumping Iron
DPOTY: Hakeem Olajuwon, C, Houston Rockets
-Usually Dream would be in the talks about an MVP trophy, but his points are down this year. But don’t worry Dream, you still are my pick for DPOTY. He is leading in bpg by .6. Dream can also steal the ball as is shown by his 1.8 spg. I would put someone who could beat him out, but there really isn’t anyone.
Yes I will be using this same picture for all of Dream’s stuff
ROTY: Nick Van Exel, PG, Boston Celtics
-He has won both of the rookie of the month awards and is the main reason why Boston is 19-13. He is averaging almost 18 ppg, 9.5 apg, with 2.2 topg. Very efficient young point guard. He also shoots at a nice percentage. He will be a top pg for years to come.
Don’t put Nick
All-League First Team
Center: Shaquille O’Neal, C, Orlando Magic
-Yeah of course he goes here.
KAZAAM!
Power Forward: Karl Malone, PF, Utah Jazz
-Great scorer? Check. Great rebounder? Check. Solid defender?
Check. Leading the league in ppg gets you a place on this team.
He is very wise
Small Forward: Scottie Pippen, SF, Chicago Bulls
-Great defender who can score? That is what ever team loves. With Pippen’s great production, they were able to trade away MJ in order to get a better inside big man in D-Rob. As long as Pippen continues to produce at a high level, that combo will put them in title contention year in and year out.
Not quite like Mike
Shooting Guard: Michael Jordan, SG, San Antonio Spurs
-I am picking MJ because I expect his numbers to go up while in SA. If this was mid-season award winners, it would go to Boston’s Nick Anderson.
LMAO
Point Guard: Gary Payton, PG, Seattle Supersonics
-Bit of a homer pick? Yeah, but there is no doubting what The Glove can do. Efficient with the rock in passing and with scoring, he is a great young player. However, his defense is lacking where some other guys are much better.
What did he just say?
All-Defensive Team
Center: Hakeem Olajuwon, C, Houston Rockets
-Studly.
Told ya so
Power Forward: Clifford Robinson, PF, Portland Trailblazers
-The Blazers have kept Cliffy to themselves and it shows why. He is a great scorer who is showing signs of a defensive game. For B- rebounding he is putting up 10 boards a game. But back to his defense. 3 bpg paired with 1.8 spg makes him a threat to block your shot and steal your balls.
Kinda looks like a t-rex
Small Forward: Scottie Pippen, SF, Chicago Bulls
-He is good, blah blah blah. He leads the league in spg and is doing that while a SF.
Shooting Guard: Michael Jordan, SG, San Antonio Spurs
-The Bulls could have had 2 All-League and All-Defensive team players if they would have kept MJ.
Close to SA colors
Point Guard: Hersey Hawkins, PG, Philadelphia 76ers
-He is tied for the top spg PG with Stockton, but his .1 more bpg gives him this award. He is an average passing/handling point guard, but he for sure makes up for it with his defense.
Great stash
